Position Summary:
- To provide service in a client’s residence of “hands on” care related to a personal hygiene or functional activity of daily living that an individual cannot meet independently
Essential Duties for CNAs and PCAs include but not limited to:
- Adheres to ethical business practices by striving to perform in a manner that conforms to the highest standards of ethical behavior, integrity and honesty.

- Communicates information effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Maintains proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
- Mouth care – assistance with the care of the mouth and teeth through routine oral hygiene including care of dentures.
- Grooming – assistance with hair care, shaving and the ordinary care of nails (cleaning and filing) for non-diabetic clients. Diabetic clients’ nails may not be cared for by the personal care aide.
- Bathing – assistance to the client with bathing in the tub, shower, or bed.
- Toileting – assistance with transfers on and off bedpans, commodes or toilets, urinals, emptying bedpans and commodes, changing and disposing of incontinence pads and diapers and personal hygiene associated with toileting habits.
- Ambulation and Transfer – steadying support and supervision to assist a client with walking and transferring.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Preferred to have at least 6 months home care experience or will training if needed.
- Must be able to read and comprehend oral and written information; communicate clearly; carry out directions; and possess maturity to effectively deal with the demands of job duties and responsibilities.
- Must be able to get along with others.
- Must be a resident of Pennsylvania for the last 2 years and be able to show proof.
- Must have a clean criminal background check, driving history check and child background.
Personal and Physical Requirements:
- Possess reliable means of transportation to and from work. Must be able to show proof of insurance or some other means of reliable transportation with availability to the employee consistent with the needs of the Employer.
- Ability to have a 2 step Mantoux and a screening yearly after.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screenings.
- Must have the ability to move, transport, position and transfer clients from sitting and standing positions with no weight restrictions.
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, ascend/descend stairs, stand, sit, bend. Stoop, kneel, pull, reach, lift and perform repetitive movements of the upper extremities.
